Our next club meeting is on Tuesday, 12 May 2026 at the Confederation Education Centre, 1645 Woodroffe Avenue. Barry Young and Loius Boucher will be demonstrating that evening. We will be using Zoom that evening as well for those that can't attend in person. If you can come out a bit early to help set for the meeting it would greatly appreciated. See you there!
turnfest 2026
Valley Woodturners will be hosting TurnFest 2026 on 23 and 24 May 2026 at the Confederation Education Centre! We have a great program lined up for you to enjoy. Details on the program and how to register can be seen here.
Wood Collaborative's fall Wood Symposium
A remarkable celebration of wood will take place this October in and around Owen Sound at Grey Roots Museum, Harmony Arts Centre, Grey Gallery, and Intersections Wood Collaborative. With A FULL WEEKEND of presentations, exhibitions, demonstrations, international speakers, vendor displays, evening programming, pre-and post hands-on workshops, and so much more, Wood Symposium 2026 will connect and inspire beginner to experienced woodworkers and woodturners. Symposium sessions will cover specific woodworking and woodturning techniques, design and form development, historical and contemporary perspectives, sustainable forestry and woodlot management, and more. Woodworkers, artists, educators, arborists, and

the MariAn McGee award
We are always looking for members to submit a turning as part of the Marian McGee Award and Challenge. The 2025 entries were judged at our June 2025 meeting and the winning submission was presented to Aude Laguens, the top student at the University of Ottawa's School of Nursing. Congratulations, Aude! The winning submission was created by Roger Mattiuz. Aude, Roger, and his creation are pictured below.
